Chapter 828 An Awkward Third Wheel

Villain Ch 828. An Awkward Third Wheel

After a while, the car began to slow down as they approached their destination—the elite shopping district. The area was lined with shops that boasted designer shoes and bags, high-end boutiques, and numerous makeup and skincare stores. Elegant signs and lavish window displays showcased the latest in fashion and beauty, drawing the attention of passersby.

There were also high-end salons, promising luxury treatments to those who could afford them.

Allen watched quietly as their car rolled to a slow crawl, taking in the scene before him. Though he was used to the sight of such opulence, the thought of actually entering and shopping in a place like this hadn't occurred to him. He wasn't intimidated, but the idea of participating in this world felt foreign.

Growing up, Allen had always valued practicality over brand names. He aimed for quality and durability in the products he used, never feeling the need for them to be branded or luxurious. It was a principle that had served him well, especially during the tougher times in his life. Now, surrounded by the trappings of wealth, he couldn't help but feel slightly out of place.

He noticed the clientele milling about. Most of the shoppers were women, elegantly dressed and exuding an air of sophistication. Those who brought their men along walked arm-in-arm with partners who were equally well-dressed, their attire polished and prestigious. It was a far cry from the simple, functional clothes Allen usually wore.

Allen glanced at Emma and Azura, who were still nestled against his shoulders, seemingly fast asleep. A long exhale escaped his lips as he thought about their sudden exhaustion. Something wasn't adding up. He hadn't initially suspected them of pretending, but now he was reconsidering.

Despite his shifting position several times, their heads remained firmly on his shoulders, not slumping in the other direction as would be expected if they were truly asleep.

Allen let out another sigh, this one tinged with mild exasperation. "Alright, you two, time to wake up," he said in a louder voice, enough to rouse anyone genuinely sleeping. "I know you're just pretending."

For a moment, there was no reaction, but then Emma and Azura began to stir, both letting out exaggerated yawns. Emma blinked her eyes open, looking around with a faux-innocent expression. "Oh, we've arrived," she said in a tone so innocent it almost seemed rehearsed.

Azura stretched, mirroring Emma's act. "Yeah, I must've been more tired than I thought," she added, her voice carrying a playful edge.

He could feel the curious stares of other shoppers, most of whom were elegantly dressed.

'I want to bury myself...' Allen thought, trying to shrink into the background. But Emma and Azura had other plans. Before he could even consider a quiet escape, they each grabbed one of his hands and dragged him along with them. He had no choice but to follow, their enthusiasm overpowering any chance of retreat.

"Come on! You're going to love this," Emma said, giving him a bright smile that was impossible to resist.

Azura laughed, her grip firm on his hand. "Yeah, you might even find something you like. You never know!"

Allen sighed, resigned to his fate.

They entered the first boutique, he couldn't help but feel a mixture of embarrassment and reluctant amusement. The interior was elegant and tastefully decorated, with racks of high-end clothing and accessories neatly displayed. The sales associates, impeccably dressed, greeted them with professional smiles.

Emma and Azura immediately dove into the racks, picking out dresses, blouses, and skirts with practiced ease. Allen trailed behind, feeling like an awkward third wheel. He could see the curious glances from other shoppers and staff, their eyes flicking to the bodyguards who maintained a respectful distance but were clearly on alert.

Emma held up a dress and turned to Azura for her opinion. "What do you think?" she asked.

"It's cute. But is that too girly?" Azura answered her.

"Hey, I'm a girl. I also like girly stuff," Emma replied with a pout. She turned to Allen. "Allen, what do you think?" But she just found out Allen wasn't near them anymore. He was standing by a rack of men's clothing. He absently touched a jacket, feeling the smooth fabric.

The quality was undeniable.
