Chapter 299: Temple in the Mountain
Chapter 299: Temple in the Mountain
After dodging the falling boulders, they finally reached the top of the mountain. However, what appeared before them was not the flat and open land they had expected, but an ancient and mysterious temple.
The walls of the temple are mottled and surrounded by a thin layer of mist, giving people a gloomy feeling.
"Why is there a temple on this mountain?" A Qiang said in surprise.
Wang Meng frowned: "It looks a bit weird."
Zhao Xue stepped forward cautiously: "Maybe there is some secret hidden in it."
Lu Yun observed the exterior of the temple and said, "Anyway, let's go in and take a look."
Lin Feng nodded and led everyone into the temple.
Inside the temple, the light was dim and filled with an air of antiquity. In the center, a statue of a deity with an indistinct face was enshrined, creating an inexplicable sense of oppression.
"This statue looks so scary." A Qiang couldn't help but hide behind Lin Feng.
Li San said softly: "Everyone be careful, something doesn't feel right here."
At this moment, a sinister laugh echoed in the temple.
"Who?" Wang Meng shouted loudly.
"Welcome here, brave adventurers." A mysterious voice sounded.
Everyone looked around, but could not see the person who was speaking.
"Who are you? Come out!" Lu Yun shouted.
"I am the guardian of this temple." The voice came again.
Lin Feng took a step forward: "Guardian? Why are you stopping us from going up the mountain?"
"This is a test for you," said the guardian.
"Test?" Zhao Xue asked doubtfully.
"That's right, only if you pass the test can you leave here." said the guardian.
Suddenly, the lights in the temple flickered, and a group of dark shadows emerged from all around and pounced towards them.
"Be careful!" Lin Feng drew his sword to fight.
Wang Meng brandished his battle axe and engaged in a fierce fight with the black shadow: "Come on, I'm not afraid of you!"
Zhao Xue's swordsmanship was sharp, and every strike hit the black shadow accurately.
Lu Yun relied on his agility to move among the shadows.
Aqiang also plucked up the courage and helped with a dagger.
Li San continued to cast magic to provide support to everyone.
"Ah!" Aqiang was accidentally hit by the black shadow and fell to the ground.
"A Qiang!" Lin Feng hurried over to help him up.
"I'm fine, Brother Lin." A Qiang gritted his teeth and stood up.
After a hard fight, everyone finally repelled the black shadow.
"Is this your test?" Lin Feng asked, panting.
"This is just the beginning," said the Guardian.
Then, a huge stone door appeared in the temple and slowly opened.
"The final test is inside. Do you dare to go in?" asked the guardian.
Everyone looked at each other and walked into the stone gate without hesitation.
Inside the stone gate is a huge maze with strange lights flickering on the walls.
"Everyone be careful and don't get separated." Lin Feng reminded.
They moved forward cautiously in the maze, and every fork was full of unknowns.
"How big is this maze?" Wang Meng complained.
"Don't worry, we will definitely find a way out." Zhao Xue said.
Just then, a low roar was heard from the maze.
"What else is there?" Lu Yun looked around vigilantly.
A huge monster walked out of the darkness. It was huge and its eyes were flashing red light.
"Get ready for battle!" Lin Feng shouted.
Everyone fell into a fierce battle again...
