Chapter 203 Conspiracy Gift
Chapter 203 Conspiracy Gift
An idea vaguely emerged in his mind, and in an instant all the drafts were overturned, even Li Yucheng's finished product could not be retained.
With inspiration coming to him one after another, Ni Jia felt a little eager and wished he could go home and paint for a few hours.
The car drove away from the horse farm. Ni Hao leaned on the car window, looking reluctant to leave. Li Yucheng reminded her to sit still.
"Will we come again?"
"at any time."
"How about next week?"
"Okay." Li Yucheng responded and gave a specific time: "Afternoon of the fourth day of the New Year."
Ni Hao stretched out his little finger and said excitedly, "Pin it."
Li Yucheng reached an agreement with her and promised to go to watch horse racing together.
Since getting on the car, Ni Jia has been drawing on the tablet with a very focused look. He leaned forward with some curiosity, but to his surprise, the tablet was immediately turned over.
"What are you drawing?"
"Clothes." Ni Jia waved his hand and said mysteriously, "Trade secrets."
Won't show it to me? There's something fishy going on. Li Yucheng raised his eyebrows and prepared to cheat, "Actually, I saw it."
Ni Jia pursed her lips, and after a careful look, she concluded that Li Yucheng was lying, but she did not expose him, and followed his words and said, "Why are you asking?"
No trap? Li Yucheng didn't give up: "There are words on your face."
Ni Jia protected the tablet and poked the man's face with the electronic pen: "It's on your face too."
Normally, the drawings were laid out openly on the desk. Judging from the reaction, the drawings must not be ordinary things. Li Yucheng concluded that they were not clothes.
If not children's clothing, what would it be?
What is something he can't see?
A guess flashed through his mind, and Li Yucheng leaned back with a smile, tapping the armrest with his fingertips. He looked confident and did not ask any more questions.
While the other party was not paying attention, Ni Jia quickly unbuckled his seat belt and moved to the position directly behind Li Yucheng.
This is just an idea for now, and she wants to keep it secret until the final product is completed, to avoid some people making a fuss and overreacting after finding out.
"You are trying to cover up your mistake." Li Yucheng teased slowly.
Provoking Ni Jia had no effect. She shook her head complacently and continued drawing with her tablet in her arms.
The time spent painting passed very quickly. When Ni Jia looked up again, it was already an hour later. The streets were very deserted and many shops were closed.
Only the hospital was as busy as usual, with people coming and going all year round.
The old lady lived in the VIP room on the top floor. The two little kids each held a gift they were going to give, and after entering the elevator, they became very quiet.
Ni Jia was carrying an insulated box filled with bone soup that Aunt Tong had cooked that morning.
After coming out of the elevator, the four of them happened to bump into Aunt Lin who was coming back from fetching water. "Grandma is awake?" Li Yucheng asked.
"He's awake!" Aunt Lin's eyes curved when she saw the child. She wanted to hold him but her hands were dirty, so she reached out and retracted her hand. "The old lady has been waiting since early morning."
"Are you feeling better today?" Ni Jia asked.
"I'm not dizzy anymore. I feel much better."
Ni Jia nodded and followed him in without saying anything else.
The ward was very quiet. The old lady was lying on the bed with an IV drip. She opened her eyes when she heard the noise, her pale lips slightly raised, and she struggled to sit up.
Seeing this, the nurse quickly stood up to help. Li Yucheng also quickly walked to the bedside and pressed the switch to raise the head of the bed.
"The two babies are here," the old lady waved her hand, "Hey, come over here and let me see you."
"Great-grandmother."
"Hey!" When the old man saw the child, it seemed as if all his illnesses disappeared. One of his hands was in a plaster cast and the other had an IV hanging, but he still reached out to touch the child.
"Be careful with your hands." Ni Jia put down the incubator and quickly walked over to tidy up the infusion tube to avoid pulling the needle.
The old lady glanced at her and said softly, "You are here too."
Not sure if it was because of her illness, but Ni Jia always felt that the old lady wasn’t as energetic as before, and her complexion was a little worse.
She responded softly and pulled out a pillow to place behind the old man.
“Be careful with your great-grandmother’s hands.”
The two little ghosts nodded obediently. Haohao even went over to blow on them and asked worriedly, "Does it hurt?"
"It doesn't hurt."
"What are you holding?"
"Ha!" Haohao raised the doll in his hand and pressed on the doll's belly, and soothing music came out immediately.
She explained to the old man: "This is a comfort doll! I found it specially for you to sleep with!"
"Sleep with me?" The old lady stared at the plush doll and was amused by this childish and naive idea.
"Yes! Don't be afraid, it will accompany you to sleep!"
I put the doll on the bedside, and the music played slowly and continuously, adding a bit of warmth to the cold ward.
In the world of children, hospitals are scary places. So that's what it means. The old lady smiled knowingly and said, "Thank you. Now I'm not afraid anymore."
Haohao was very happy to be able to help her great-grandmother, and she didn't forget to pull Ni Hao and say, "Sister has a gift for you too!"
"Oh?" The old lady looked at the other face, which had the same facial features but was slightly more gentle, and asked with a smile, "Do you have a gift for me too?"
Ni Hao nodded, put down the red paper in her hand, and said shyly: "I cut this for you."
There were all kinds of red paper with happy characters, smiling faces, rabbits, and red flowers. They were all very simple patterns, but the old lady was very surprised.
"You cut it?"
Ni Hao nodded, and Hao Hao echoed beside him: "Really! Grandma Tong taught us, and my sister cuts better than me!"
"So great." The old lady picked up one of the small flowers and showed it to Li Yucheng: "The craftsmanship is not inferior to your childhood."
Li Yucheng helped her pull up the corner of the quilt and said with a smile, "Yes."
"That's great," the old lady stared at the paper-cuts and murmured to herself, "This child is like you, with strong hands-on skills and a quick mind. That's great, great."
The ward windows were empty, making it look a little desolate. Haohao suggested, "Let me help you put it up!"
"Okay! Where do you want to put it?" The old lady's tone changed, and her voice became soft, not at all as stern as usual.
"Emmmm..." Haohao looked around, as if thinking: "Window, door, bed, these places are all fine!"
She turned back and landed on the light blue cabinet: "You can also post it here!"
Aunt Lin saw this and quickly said, "I'll go to the nurse's station to borrow glue."
"I am coming too!"
Haohao followed him with a jump and a skip. Ni Hao climbed onto the bed and sat a little far away, at the end of the bed.
The old lady waved her hand and patted the seat beside her: "Come here."
Ni Hao glanced at Li Yucheng and moved over silently. However, she was afraid of touching the needle, so she moved a little further away.
"Has Ni Hao grown taller?"
The old lady called out the name accurately without any confusion, which surprised Ni Jia. She nodded and said, "Well, I just measured it a few days ago, and it has grown a little."
"Long arms and long legs, follow Yucheng." She held Ni Hao's wrinkled hands and said, "I will look like you, beautiful and pretty."
Is this a disguised way of praising her? Ni Jia was slightly startled, and pulled the corner of his mouth without saying anything.
