Chapter 264 Returning to the old business
Chapter 264 Returning to the old business
She sighed and didn't continue.
Xia Yiyi looked at her, her heart full of doubts.
"Sister Lin, just what?" she asked.
"Nothing." Lin Wanqing shook her head, "It's just that some things aren't as simple as they seem."
She looked into the distance, a complicated light flashing in her eyes.
Xia Yiyi looked at her, her heart full of confusion.
She felt that Lin Wanqing seemed to have a lot on her mind, but she was unwilling to say it out loud.
why?
Xia Yiyi was a little confused by Lin Wanqing's words.
What is not as simple as it seems?
She was about to ask again, but saw Lin Wanqing turned around and walked back.
"Sister Lin, where are you going?" she shouted hurriedly.
"I'm a little tired and want to go back to my room to rest." Lin Wanqing said without turning his head.
Xia Yiyi looked at her departing back, her heart full of doubts.
Lin Wanqing returned to the room, closed the door, sat on a chair, and fell into deep thought.
Xia Yiyi's words kept echoing in her mind.
"Some things are not as simple as they seem..."
So, what exactly is not simple?
Lin Wanqing couldn't figure it out, so he simply stopped thinking about it.
She lay down on the bed, ready to take a rest.
However, just as she closed her eyes, she heard footsteps outside the door.
She sat up suddenly and looked towards the door warily.
The door was pushed open and a figure walked in. Walked in.
Lin Wanqing took a look and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
It’s Lu Shengyuan.
"Your Highness, why are you here?" she asked.
"I came to see you." Lu Shengyuan walked up to her and looked at her. "I heard you were not feeling well. What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just a little tired." Lin Wanqing said, "Is there anything wrong, Your Highness?"
"Nothing." Lu Shengyuan shook his head, "I just came to see you."
He looked at her, a hint of worry in his eyes.
"You don't look well," he said. "Should we ask the imperial physician to take a look?"
"No need." Lin Wanqing shook his head. "I just need to rest for a while."
"Okay." Lu Shengyuan nodded. "Then you should have a good rest. I'll come see you later."
He said, and turned to leave.
"Your Highness." Lin Wanqing suddenly called him.
"What's wrong?" Lu Shengyuan turned around and looked at her puzzledly.
"I..." Lin Wanqing hesitated, "Nothing, Your Highness, take care."
She didn't ask in the end.
Lu Shengyuan looked at her deeply, then left.
Lin Wanqing looked at his departing back, feeling mixed emotions.
She didn't know what she was thinking or what to do.
The next morning, Lin Wanqing called Pei'er to his side.
"Pei'er, come out with me." Lin Wanqing said.
"Yes, Princess." Pei'er responded respectfully.
After she helped Lin Wanqing finish dressing up, she followed her out the door.
The two came to the street. Lin Wanqing looked at the bustling street and an inexplicable emotion surged in his heart.
"Princess, where are we going?" asked Pearl.
"Let's go check out the shop I left behind," Lin Wanqing said, "and see if we can keep it open."
"A shop?" Pei'er was stunned. "You are a princess now, why do you need to open a shop? The prince will support you."
"I know." Lin Wanqing nodded. "But I can't always rely on him. I have my own skills, so why not make money on my own?"
"But..." Pei'er wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Lin Wanqing.
"Don't say anymore." Lin Wanqing said, "I've already made up my mind."
As she spoke, she strode forward.
Pei'er had no choice but to follow her.
The two came to a busy area and Lin Wanqing stopped.
She looked at the shop in front of her, a flash of memory in her eyes.
This is the shop she used to run. Although it is not big, it does good business.
However, she has never been here since she married Lu Shengyuan.
She didn't know what the shop was like now, or whether it could continue to operate.
"Princess, is this the shop you used to run?" Pearl asked.
"Yes." Lin Wanqing nodded, "Let's go in and take a look."
She said and walked in.
The shop has become dilapidated.
The goods were scattered all over the floor, and the tables and chairs were tilted.
"What's going on?" Lin Wanqing asked with a frown.
"Princess, since you married into the palace, no one has been taking care of this place." A waiter saw Lin Wanqing and hurried over. "You are finally back. We have all been looking forward to seeing you."
"Looking forward to me?" Lin Wanqing was stunned. "Why?"
"Because..." The waiter hesitated, "Because you are the boss here. If you leave, we will lose our backbone and our business will plummet."
"I see." Lin Wanqing nodded. "Then from now on, I'll be in charge here. I'll make sure the business improves."
"Really?" The guy looked at her excitedly. "That's great."
"Of course it's true." Lin Wanqing nodded. "Go and get me the old accounts and the inventory list. I want to see them."
Lin Wanqing looked at the shop in front of him, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes.
She can't always rely on Lu Shengyuan. She needs to have her own career and her own income.
Only in this way can she gain a foothold in the palace and have more say.
"Princess, do you really want to manage this shop yourself?" Pei'er asked worriedly.
"Of course." Lin Wanqing nodded, "I've made up my mind."
"But..." Pei'er wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Lin Wanqing.
"Don't say anything, I've made up my mind." Lin Wanqing said, "Go and help me prepare some cloth and needlework. I want to make some new clothes."
"Yes, Princess." Pei'er responded respectfully.
She knew that once Lin Wanqing made a decision, it would be difficult to change it.
Lin Wanqing was busy in the shop all day and finally sorted out the accounts and the list of goods.
She found that although the shop's business had plummeted, there were still some old customers supporting it.
This gave her hope and made her more determined to run the shop well.
In the evening, Lin Wanqing returned to the palace.
As soon as she walked into the yard, she saw Xia Yiyi waiting for her.
"Sister Lin, you're back." Xia Yiyi saw her and ran over happily.
"Yes, I'm back." Lin Wanqing nodded. "Why are you waiting for me here?"
"I'm bored and want to chat with you." Xia Yiyi said, "Where did you go today? Why haven't I seen you all day?"
"I went out for a while." Lin Wanqing said, "I took care of some things."
"Oh." Xia Yiyi nodded. "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat together?"
"Okay." Lin Wanqing nodded, "I'm hungry too."
The two went to the restaurant and had dinner together.
"Sister Lin, you seem to be in a good mood today." Xia Yiyi looked at her and said.
