Chapter 139 Western Suburbs Death Row
Chapter 139 Western Suburbs Death Row
The woman smiled slightly, gently handed the fan to Shu Wanwan, and said softly, "Take it, maybe it can help you leave." After that, she turned and left, her figure gradually blending into the mist, as if she had never appeared.
"Dai Yan!"
Shu Wanwan's voice was filled with surprise, and her eyes were fixed on the direction the woman had left. When she saw the woman's face clearly, she was deeply shocked - the woman in front of her looked exactly like Dai Yan!
However, Shu Wanwan wasn't immediately certain it was Dai Yan herself. After all, Dai Yan always wore her hair in a high, upright bun, while this woman had long, flowing hair that fell smoothly over her shoulders. Her face looked a little childish, but it was still clear that it was Dai Yan in her youth.
Shu Wanwan reacted very quickly and realized the identity of this woman in an instant.
"Dai Yan!"
Shu Wanwan cried out, her eyes sparkling with surprise. But unfortunately, her cry was still a step too late, and the woman's figure had already disappeared into the mist.
"Dai Yan!"
"Dai Yan!"
Shu Wanwan shouted a few more times unwillingly, hoping to get a response from the woman.
Her mind began to become uneasy, and her heart was filled with countless questions.
“What is going on here?”
She muttered to herself, her thoughts in turmoil.
"Are you okay?" Yi Siyang asked Shu Wanwan.
"Hmm." Shu Wanwan realized her own loss of composure and hummed lightly.
Shu Wanwan clutched her fan tightly, her heart growing heavier. She decided to find a way out first, then slowly process this bizarre scene.
She returned along the same path she had come, the fan in her hand occasionally flashing a faint red light, as if guiding the direction.
Guided by the fan, Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang finally walked out of the fog. She looked back, but the mysterious courtyard had disappeared.
Then, what appeared before Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang was a deep forest.
The silk fan in Shu Wanwan's hand gradually became transparent and then disappeared. Shu Wanwan touched the red string on her wrist, which was tied by Dai Yan for her. But now she could not feel any spiritual energy from it. However, since the red string was still there, it meant that Dai Yan should be fine.
Shu Wanwan was still feeling uneasy, thinking about the woman who looked so similar to Dai Yan.
Who is she? Why is she here? And why is she helping me?
"Don't think about it." Yi Siyang walked up and patted Shu Wanwan on the shoulder. "Now is not the time to think about these things. Let's find a way to get out first."
Shu Wanwan nodded, but deep down, she was still confused by what had just happened. However, she knew that now was not the time to be confused. This place was full of strange things, and the scene just now was just a tiny part of it. She was determined not to let these questions bother her for too long. After all, the most important thing right now was to leave here.
Shu Wanwan took a deep breath, trying to clear her mind from the chaos. She looked up ahead, her eyes sparkling as she said, "Okay, let's go."
Yi Siyang smiled and nodded. He knew how strong Shu Wanwan's heart was. He had known this before. They walked into the deep forest together and continued to look for a way out.
After passing through the woods, a mysterious square building came into view. It was like a solid city wall, but it was plain and simple. The building was airtight, with only a few high-rise air vents tightly guarded by fences.
These air vents were rectangular, about the length of a forearm and only as wide as a palm—extremely narrow. Inside the rectangles were iron columns, with tiny gaps between them forming a sturdy barrier that sealed the air vents tightly. Not only could a head not be thrust through, but even a fist would be difficult to pass through.
"This is..." Yi Siyang frowned, feeling a surge of unease. He had been to this place before and knew exactly where it was. However, at this moment, facing the scene before him, he couldn't help but feel a little surprised.
"Western Suburbs Death Row?" Shu Wanwan also frowned, her mind filled with questions. She had seen this place before during her calculations, and it had left a deep impression on her mind.
When Shu Wanwan uttered these words, Yi Siyang turned his head abruptly, staring at Shu Wanwan's face, and asked with an expression of disbelief: "You know that too?"
The word "also" reveals everything.
Shu Wanwan looked at Yi Siyang with sharp eyes, "You also know about the Western Suburbs Death Row? Who are you?"
Before Yi Siyang could speak, their attention was drawn to something else.
Two men dressed as jailers appeared out of nowhere, dragging a bloody, wounded man toward the death row. The man seemed unconscious, nearly dead, his feet rustling against the ground. The soldiers, clad in armor, walked with heavy, measured steps.
They appeared silently like ghosts, and these voices appeared in the ears of Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang at some point in time.
Shu Wanwan frowned and said, "Where did they come from?" Her heart was full of confusion. This place was too weird and made her feel uneasy. She was very uncomfortable with this feeling.
Yi Siyang's expression was similar. He remained calm and said, "No matter what, we must be careful." He gripped the flute tightly in his hand, ready to fight at any time.
However, at this moment, the two jailers suddenly stopped, turned around, and stared at Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang with cold eyes. Their eyes revealed a chilling murderous intent.
Their heartbeats suddenly quickened, and she felt a chill coming over her. Meanwhile, Yi Siyang gritted his teeth, ready to fight. But in this awful place, facing such an enemy, what chances did they have of winning?
"Who are you?" One of the jailers spoke, still looking at Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang with a cold gaze.
Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang exchanged a glance, each secretly on guard. Yi Siyang stepped forward and said in a deep voice, "We are travelers who stumbled into this place unintentionally. May I ask where this place is?"
The jailer looked at them indifferently.
"This is a forbidden area. Anyone who trespasses will die!"
Before he finished speaking, the two men attacked at the same time, brandishing their weapons towards Shu Wanwan and Yi Siyang.
Yi Siyang dodged sideways and swung his flute to fight back.
Shu Wanwan quickly pulled out a yellow talisman and summoned a ball of fire to attack the jailer. However, the jailer's armor emitted a strange glow, easily resisting the flames.
