Chapter 115 The Man in the Photo
Chapter 115 The Man in the Photo
Ye Linfeng parked the car at the entrance of Qingshui Village. Shu Wanwan and the other two got out of the car and walked into the village along the main road at the entrance.
After a while, Shu Wanwan stopped in front of a courtyard with a private entrance. She paused, stared at the door and said, "This is it."
Bai Xuan and Ye Linfeng also stared at the door. They could both see something strange in the room, but not much. There was black air lingering around the door.
Shu Wanwan knocked on the door.
"Dong dong dong."
Someone answered the door soon.
"Who is it?" The door opened and half of a body leaned out.
The person who answered the door was a middle-aged woman around 50 years old. She was very elegant and didn't look rustic at all. Instead, she had a scholarly air.
Shu Wanwan glanced at Ye Linfeng, who understood what she meant and took out the official certificate to show the woman.
"Auntie, we are sent by the police to investigate the situation."
The woman first saw Shu Wanwan and showed a look of surprise on her face, then she shifted her gaze to Bai Xuan and Ye Linfeng.
"Officer, please come in." She greeted him warmly, with a hint of doubt in her eyes.
Shu Wanwan walked into the yard, looked back at Bai Xuan and Ye Linfeng, and motioned them to follow. The three followed the woman into the house.
The room was filled with a light fragrance, and the decoration was simple and elegant. The woman asked them to sit down, poured them a glass of water, and then looked at Shu Wanwan, then turned to Ye Linfeng and said, "Officer, what are you doing here this time?"
"Su Zhiqiu, right?" Ye Linfeng picked up the document in his hand and read out the woman's name.
The woman nodded, not knowing why Ye Linfeng suddenly called her name. She looked a little uncomfortable. "Yes, officer, I am a law-abiding citizen. Have I done anything wrong?"
Ye Linfeng did not answer, but looked at Shu Wanwan. Shu Wanwan nodded at Ye Linfeng, indicating that he should leave the matter to her.
Shu Wanwan turned to look at the woman and took out a photo from her backpack. It was a photo of the original owner of the castle villa and handed it to Su Zhiqiu. "Aunt Su, do you know this person?"
"This... I know him. This is my late husband - Chen Yuan." The woman took the photo and hesitated for a while, then looked up at Shu Wanwan with a sad expression and said.
Then Shu Wanwan handed her another photo, "How about this one? Do you recognize it?"
Su Zhiqiu took the photo and this time she looked at it for a long time, as if trying to identify it. Her eyes were a little hesitant, and it was unknown what she was thinking.
After a while, Su Zhiqiu spoke.
"This seems to be Suna's boyfriend. Nana sent me a photo before."
She raised her head, paused, and continued speaking with a puzzled expression.
"But why ask him?"
Shu Wanwan said nothing. Looking at Su Zhiqiu's expression, she felt that the doubt on her face was not fake. She couldn't help but feel doubtful as well. She took out the diary from her backpack and handed it to Su Zhiqiu.
"Do you recognize this notebook?"
When Su Zhiqiu saw the notebook, she shook her head, her eyes filled with confusion. She took the notebook and flipped through two pages, her expression changing from surprise to horror.
"Is what's written in this notebook true?"
Su Zhiqiu's hands trembled as she placed the notebook on the table. Her face turned pale. "How...how is this possible?" she muttered to herself.
Seeing this, Shu Wanwan asked softly, "Aunt Su, do you know anything? This notebook was found in your villa."
Su Zhiqiu took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. "I... I've never seen this notebook before. But I do recognize the handwriting on it. It's my daughter's."
Ye Linfeng interrupted, "Ms. Su, your daughter?"
A trace of pain flashed in Su Zhiqiu's eyes: "Shui Shui... She has been missing for a while. I have been looking for her, but there is no news."
Ye Linfeng's heart tightened: "Missing? Why didn't you mention such an important thing just now?"
"Shui Shui?" But Shu Wanwan frowned and felt strange.
Su Zhiqiu lowered her head and sobbed, "Shui Shui is the daughter of my late husband and me. I thought you were just here to investigate my husband's affairs... I don't want you to think that there are more problems in my family..."
Ye Linfeng stood up and said, "Ms. Su, the information you provided is crucial. We will do our best to find your daughter. If you have any clues or ideas, please feel free to contact us." After saying that, he and Shu Wanwan looked at each other. They wanted to go back to the police station as soon as possible to investigate the news about Chen Shuishui. Shu Wanwan gently held Ye Linfeng down and motioned him to wait.
"Would you mind taking us to your daughter's room?" Shu Wanwan looked at the middle-aged woman and said.
Su Zhiqiu stood up and took the two of them to a room on the second floor. Pushing open the door, they found the room was warmly decorated, with a photo of Su Na hanging on the wall.
Shu Wanwan approached the bed and found a photo album on the bedside table. She opened the album and found photos of Chen Shuishui and a young man.
"This must be Chen Shuishui's boyfriend," Shu Wanwan said, pointing at the man in the photo.
Su Zhiqiu nodded, tears welling up in her eyes again.
Ye Linfeng looked around and suddenly found a red notebook on the bookshelf, which was very similar to the one they found in the villa.
He walked up, picked up the notebook, and opened it. Sure enough, both the workmanship and the material were exactly the same as the diary they found in the villa!
"It seems that the person who wrote that diary was Chen Shuishui..." Ye Linfeng said thoughtfully.
However, Shu Wanwan's eyes were fixed on the photo in front of her. There was a dark aura lingering above it, and Shu Wanwan frowned.
Bai Xuan looked over and said, "It seems that the black energy in this room comes from here."
Shu Wanwan winked at Bai Xuan, who nodded in understanding. Then, pulling Ye Linfeng carefully back a few steps, they kept a certain distance from the strange photo. At the same time, a flicker of determination flashed in Shu Wanwan's eyes, and suddenly, an exquisite peach wood sword appeared out of thin air in her hand.
The peach wood sword shimmered faintly, as if imbued with mysterious power. Shu Wanwan gripped the hilt tightly, muttering an ancient and mysterious incantation. As her incantation rang out, the sword trembled slightly, emitting a strange aura.
Shu Wanwan then pointed the tip of her sword at the eerie photo, her eyes firm and sharp. Her voice was deep and solemn: "The evil spirit is causing trouble, reveal yourself immediately!" As her words fell, an invisible force surged from the peach wood sword and swept towards the photo.
Instantly, the black energy in the photo surged as if stimulated. Like black flames, it burned fiercely and twisted continuously, as if resisting the power of the peach wood sword.
