Chapter 282 Preparations before the Beginning of Winter (2)
The announcement was like a boulder dropped into a calm lake, sending ripples flying. Instantly, applicants poured in like a tidal wave, as if the entire world was captivated by the news. I stared intently at the constantly flashing data in the background, watching the registration information pour in like snowflakes, overwhelming me.
Looking at this massive amount of registration information, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I am filled with joy. After all, such a large number of applicants means that this event has received great attention and welcome, which is undoubtedly the best affirmation of our previous efforts. On the other hand, I can't help but feel a little worried. With so many applicants, the review workload will be extremely huge, which is no easy task!
Fortunately, even as I was feeling anxious, the community staff responded quickly and arrived promptly. Well-trained and with clear division of labor, they carried out the review process in an orderly manner. Everyone was fully focused, meticulously checking every piece of registration information to ensure nothing was missed.
As the event date approached, the nursery became bustling with activity. The entire grounds, meticulously decorated, were transformed into a brand new space, permeated with the rich atmosphere of the Beginning of Winter. Colorful balloons swayed gracefully in the air, exquisite window decorations covered the windows, and strings of fiery red lanterns hung high, adorning the space like a fairytale wonderland.
The lovely children, with their hearts full of anticipation, stretched their necks in anticipation every day. From time to time, they would come to the teacher, blinking their big eyes and asking curiously, "Teacher, teacher, when will the activity start?" Their innocent looks were really hilarious.
In the days that followed, I carefully held this precious affirmation and encouragement, as if it were the most precious treasure in the world. With a heart full of joy, I, along with my good friends, threw myself wholeheartedly into the intense and busy preparations.
We strictly follow the detailed plan we carefully prepared before, and push forward each arduous task step by step. Every morning, when the first ray of sunlight shines through the window, we are already full of energy to start a new day of struggle; when night falls and the stars twinkle in the sky, we drag our bodies tired but satisfied to end this extremely fulfilling day.
During this passionate time, everyone was united in purpose and ambition, each with a common goal in mind: to present this grand event in the most perfect manner possible. While Lotta and Lei were busy setting up the nursery and arranging various complicated matters within it, I set out on my own to find food.
After much diligent research, I finally found an organic sheep farm just before the beginning of winter. After greeting Lotta and the others, I unhesitatingly boarded a state-of-the-art hovercraft and sped off towards my promising destination. All the while, I was filled with anticipation for the delicious lamb soup hotpot at tomorrow's event, imagining the unparalleled flavor experience it would bring.
When I finally set foot on the farm, a strange sense of anticipation washed over me. I slowly stepped out of the car, and a vast expanse unfolded before me: Lush green grass stretched like a vast emerald carpet, stretching into the distance. A gentle breeze caressed my cheek like a soft hand, then quietly brushed past my ear. The air was filled with a refreshing, pleasant scent, like a perfume specially blended by nature, leaving me feeling relaxed and refreshed, without a trace of any unpleasant odor. Just standing there, I could already tell the sheep raised here must be of exceptional quality.
Just then, a middle-aged man in simple work clothes walked quickly toward me, a smile on his face. Before I could even speak, he greeted me warmly, "Girl, you're here to pick out the sheep!" I smiled and nodded, then followed him into the flock. Each sheep was as white as snow, their wool fluffy and soft, as light and graceful as clouds drifting down from the sky. They were either leisurely grazing or playing and frolicking, each one appearing healthy and lively, full of life and energy.
As I was absorbed in observing these adorable sheep, I was suddenly struck by the melodious sound of a flute. The melody flowed through my heart like a stream of pure water, captivating me. Curious, I turned and looked in the direction of the sound, only to be surprised to find a young boy sitting quietly on the grass nearby, playing the flute. The sunlight bathed him in a beautiful scene.
The uncle keenly caught my gaze, a genial smile spreading across his face as he enthusiastically introduced me: "This kid's name is Afeng. Don't underestimate his youth, but he possesses extraordinary skills! As soon as he gently blows on his flute, the flock of sheep, which were originally as restless as wild horses, instantly become extremely well-behaved and quietly obey his commands."
Hearing the uncle's vivid description, my curiosity was piqued, and I immediately became deeply interested in this little boy named Afeng. At the same time, because of the presence of such a remarkable young man in this base, I couldn't help but develop a fondness for this base and the sheep that live here.
Filled with curiosity and anticipation, I slowly approached Afeng. As I approached, I smiled and greeted him, and a spontaneous conversation ensued. Afeng, somewhat shyly, told me that ever since he could remember, he seemed to possess an innate ability—the ability to understand the language of sheep and discern their innermost joys, sorrows, anger, and happiness.
At that moment, a bright and intriguing idea suddenly struck me. If I could convince Afeng to bring a few adorable lambs to our upcoming event and demonstrate his unique and remarkable ability to communicate with both humans and animals, it would surely add a lot of color to the entire event. Unable to contain my excitement, I quickly extended a sincere invitation to Afeng. At first, Afeng seemed hesitant, but after some thought, he finally agreed.
Filled with joy and contentment, I stood among the lively flock, carefully selecting those that looked the fattest and strongest. After careful selection, I finally selected several large sheep with shiny fur and plump bodies. They exuded a healthy and energetic aura, as if they couldn't wait to participate in the next activity.
Meanwhile, Afeng had chosen his two adorable lambs. These fluffy little creatures, with eyes that sparkled like black gemstones, looked incredibly endearing. We each held our chosen lamb and carefully boarded the uniquely shaped hovercar.
The car started up smoothly and sped off toward the nursery. Along the way, the lambs were incredibly well-behaved, nestling quietly in our arms, occasionally looking up to curiously survey the unfamiliar scenery. Afeng excitedly pulled out a delicate flute and gently played a cheerful and melodious tune. The melodious sound wafted through the air, like the warmest spring breeze, caressing everyone's heart. The lighthearted tune brightened my mood, filling me with endless anticipation and confidence for the upcoming event.
