Chapter 503: Ru Hua

Next day.

Lin Xuan Qi had a quick breakfast before he went and checked on the items that the servants had prepared for the trip.

Everything had been loaded onto the horse carriage.

And after he made sure that the items was in order, he left for the capital immediately.

"Take care and be careful."

Xue Cong and the others waved at him until the horse carriage couldn’t be seen.

They gave out a sigh silently when they got back into the mansion and tried to live out the day like it was just another day.

Lin Xuan Qi had always said that getting back into a familiar routine would help take their minds off other things, and that was what they planned to do.

While they did so, the journey to the capital didn’t take too long for Lin Xuan Qi this time, as there wasn’t much with him except for a few guards.

These guards, who were seasoned martial arts fighters, didn’t need too much of a break in between and it helped with the pace of the travel.

He didn’t need to stop much for the others, like Sima Long or Yue Xin, to rest and have a meal or two in comparison to his first trip.

And so, he had arrived at the capital after a day and a half of travel.

"Hot noodle soup!"

"Sweet malt candies for sale."

"Fur coats for the winter, get one to warm yourself up."

The capital city, Bian Jing, was still bustling with activity even in the winter cold.

Street vendors shouted and peddled whatever they had for sale.

Pedestrians wore their winter clothing and shopped around whenever they heard something interesting on sale.

It was a huge contrast to Hong Feng City and Lin Xuan Qi couldn’t help but marvel at how prosperous Bian Jing was even in the winter.

"It’s the capital for a reason." He mumbled to himself while the horse carriage brought him to the house he had bought in Bian Jing.

Everything was as it was when they left.

Things looked the same, except for the fact that the exterior of the house was now covered in snow, and the interior was now covered in a thick layer of dust.

"All of you, get your living quarters ready. We shall pay a visit to the retail store afterwards." Lin Xuan Qi said and the guards nodded their heads at him.

"What about you, Master Lin?" One of the guards glanced at the dusty interior and asked.

There weren’t any servant girls with them on the trip, so he wasn’t sure if they would need to help with his room.

"I would be fine." Lin Xuan Qi shook his head at him and replied.

After all, they would be staying for only one night and he wouldn’t be spending much time in his room.

There was no need for him to be concerned with it.

He waited for the guards to be done in the main hall and thankfully, it was only a short wait.

The guards had got their rooms ready within a few moments.

All of them had stayed in worse conditions during their times traveling throughout the land as martial arts fighters.

And so they only put down their bundles and got rid of the dust on their beds.

That was all they did.

They would rather spend more time being outside to enjoy the sights and scenes of the Capital City first.

"Let’s get going." Lin Xuan Qi said when he saw them get back to the main hall and they headed to the retail store next.

"Master Lin!" Ru Hua was surprised to see him when he entered the retail shop.

The retail shop was now bustling with customers longing to buy a gift box of soap for themselves and as a gift.

They glanced at Lin Xuan Qi when they saw him talking to Ru Hua, fearing that Ru Hua might allocate their orders to someone good looking like him.

The soap was always out of stock very soon once it was restocked so they didn’t want to miss out on the current batch of stock the retail shop had.

You would be considered outdated or someone crude and uncouth if you didn’t use the soap for bathing and cleaning.

Such was the fashion now in the young masters and young mistresses circles.

"Who is he?"

"I don’t know. Never seen him before."

"That girl better not be giving the man my orders of soap."

The young mistresses chattered while they glanced at what was happening with Ru Hua and Lin Xuan Qi.

Ru Hua gave Lin Xuan Qi an awkward smile when she heard them and said, "I think there is a misunderstanding."

Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and replied, "Go deal with them first."

He stepped to the side to see how she would handle it.

She went up to the few young mistresses and started chatting with them.

The young mistresses giggled with their sleeves covering their mouths while they glanced over at him.

Lin Xuan Qi gave them a smile and nodded at them.

He knew that Ru Hua had settled the misunderstanding and he was satisfied with her performance from what he had seen.

The retail store was well kept and the other retail store workers knew what they had to do.

Other than the fact that the demand was higher than the supply, everything else worked perfectly according to what he had taught them.

And with such a bustling business, he was thinking about expanding to more retail stores in Bian Jing if he could.

However, that would have to be much later.

Right now, he didn’t have any more mental bandwidth to be doing so.

He had the rice noodle franchise to settle first and also the expansion to Gui Feng City next, before he would have the time and effort to come back to the soap business.

It was times like this that he wished his two sons would grow up quickly and help out with his businesses.

However, it was all but a wishful dream and he could only work harder for the time being.

But he couldn’t complain.

It was for his family and the Lin Clan after all.
