Chapter 320
Chapter 320
The 22nd event began amidst the players' bewilderment.
Dear players, the 22nd installment of the Qingfengyi event, "The Beginning and End of Fate, Countless Lifetimes of Splendor," has officially begun! In our lives, we will meet many people and part ways with many others. Every second of every person deserves respect and cherishment. We hope everyone will treat each departed soul and newborn you guide with utmost care.
Those who love war are burdened by war, while those who seek peace are protected by peace.
Those who turn to evil are troubled by evil, while those who turn to good are blessed by goodwill.
Qingfengyi embraces all players, but we sincerely hope everyone moves towards a better future!
The following updates will be made to this event:
1. The "Guiding the Dead" quest has been officially updated to a "Life Management" quest, with adjusted rewards. Please check the announcement for details. A little sneak peek: major rewards include a small boat, a green snake demon, a child of the immortal realm, and a goldfish series! There are three tiers, and these are the top rewards for each tier. More exciting life experiences await you! The Life Management gameplay allows you to write your own story and build your own dream world. Nine-Turn Green Lotuses can grow in various locations such as treasure chests, Luo Feng Mountain, and the Immortal Realm. Using a Nine-Turn Green Lotus allows the dead to be reborn on Penglai Immortal Island, where you can shape the life of your newborn. However, Nine-Turn Green Lotuses are quite difficult to find, so please be patient!
2. This update introduces the brand-new Immortal Realm map, officially completing the Xianxia world map. The Xianxia world comprises the Underworld, the Human Realm of Chinese Jianghu, and the Immortal Realm, all interconnected. Bound by merit and the rules of Heaven, it is governed by the Five Emperors and Celestial Officials at the top, the Nine Kings of Hell and various ghost officials at the bottom, and the Human Emperor and officials in between. Players can interfere in all three realms, even usurping the throne. Only the Heavenly Dao and the overseers are irreplaceable. Dear players, if you aspire to great things, be prepared to face the constraints of the overseers and the Heavenly Dao! The Xianxia world not only contains humans and ghosts, but also demons, immortals, gods, and monsters. You can be either righteous or demonic; anything is possible, as long as you are prepared to bear the consequences of your choices.
3. This event features a brand-new Wonderland Treasure Chest, which can contain various rare spiritual herbs, medicines, and pills, and even top-tier magical artifacts! There are two types of Wonderland Treasure Chests: the Leisure Chest and the Contest Chest. The Leisure Chest can be opened without mana and contains crafting tools, cloth, flower seeds, fertilizer, spiritual herb seeds, clothing, etc. It does not contain weapons or weapon-related items, and is recommended for all players. The Contest Chest contains weapon fragments, spiritual herbs, medicines, spiritual items, and weapon repair tools, and is recommended for combat players or those with the "Cultivation of Immortals" tag. The two types of chests offer different options; opening a Wonderland Treasure Chest will give you two choices!
4. This event adds ten new romanceable spirit companions: Apricot Blossom Fairy, Ginseng Doll, Butterfly Fairy, Sandalwood Fairy, Ginkgo Doll, Thousand Lantern Demon, Treasure Guardian, Door Lion, Old Man Weng, and Flower Granny. Feel free to find and romance them! Just between you and me, these ten companions are all expert gardeners. Apricot Blossom Fairy excels at planting flowers, Ginseng Doll at growing spirit herbs, and Butterfly Fairy surprisingly enjoys searching for treasures, though sometimes with minor mishaps. Sandalwood Fairy is skilled at creating magical fragrances and alchemy, which are said to attract monsters? Actually, they're quite delicious to eat too! Many more of their skills await your discovery. Of course, you can also treat them like family, living with them or going on adventures together.
5. The theme of this event is "The Origin and Extinction of Fate, Through Several Lifetimes." Therefore, there are many more surprises waiting to be explored in the management of life. I'll let you in on a little secret: it is said that there are nearly 800,000 possibilities. Aren't you curious?
6. A brand new map, Dream Lake, is now available. You can find Bai Fang and Bai Fang seeds on this map. Giving Bai Fang to an NPC will bring a surprise!
7. A new flower mutation type, Hundred Fragrance, has been added. The Hundred Fragrance mutated flower has the same acquisition method as the Dream Lake flower and can be gifted. (Whispering: It seems that consuming it increases mana for combat players?)

Stay tuned for more exciting content!
This update contains a lot of content, all of which was diligently completed by the studio staff and Lin Shuying. Lin Shuying was urged to rest early due to health reasons, but the studio staff stayed up late night after night. Even staff from other departments worked together, focusing on their areas of expertise. For example, Liang Ranran was able to guide the apprentices in checking the costume designs, as the designs had evolved and expanded after being scanned by the AI, resulting in many changes.
Previously, Lin Shuying handled this part herself; this is the first time she's delegated it entirely to her employees. It's not just about training them, but also about letting go and seeing if they can complete it smoothly without her interference.
The studio also pioneered a brand-new design method: sending out questionnaires to ask players for their opinions on "Qingfengyi". This wasn't the kind of perfunctory survey Lin Shuying had done in her previous life, but a serious analysis that directly asked players for their thoughts. Most importantly, they sought information about whether players were satisfied with their chosen area of play, what their needs were, and whether they felt bored or neglected due to a focus on other gameplay elements.
This point is not actually very important for a game, because once players choose a game, they should know its preferences and focus. It is unreasonable to seek emphasis on areas that the game does not focus on.
However, Qingfengyi is different; it involves too many things, and if players are not careful, they will feel neglected.
The focus of Qingfengyi is very clear: the foundation of Chinese civilization. Yet, it's not entirely clear-cut, because Chinese civilization is a complete civilization encompassing numerous elements. To showcase each one well would require a tremendous amount of effort.
Sometimes, designers, along the way, forget where they are, wandering aimlessly in their own sea of thoughts like lost souls. They forget that they were originally meant to walk alongside the masses, hoping to gain their approval and serve them.
This is evident in many situations; Lin Shuying witnessed far too much of it in her past life. Gradually, the upper class becomes detached from the lives of ordinary people, detached from movies, art, entertainment, and the lives of the wealthy and powerful...
The same goes for games; they're gradually moving closer to money and further away from players. It's unclear whether capital has fueled this behavior or whether those driven by profit have done so; perhaps both sides have their reasons.
That's how society is—composed of individual hearts, and then dismantled by them. It's a cycle of coming together and breaking apart; some strive to mend, others to destroy, each with their own reasons. Those who mend hope for a better world, while those who destroy believe that only by breaking with convention can we see more possibilities and beauty.
Perhaps all hope is valid; we always yearn for a better future. But when our thoughts differ, they become conflicting...
