Emma grinned. "We just want you to feel comfy and confident," she said. Then her grin got a little mischievous. "Plus, I gotta make you look smoking hot for the party so everyone’s jealous of me," she added with a wink.
Allen pursed his lips, which somehow turned into a weird smile. ’She’s definitely plotting something evil,’ he thought.
Their drinks arrived, and Allen took a long, refreshing sip of his soda, feeling slightly revived. The cold, fizzy liquid was a welcome relief after the hot, exhausting day.
"So, what’s the plan after lunch?" Allen asked, hoping they didn’t have any more shopping in mind.
Emma and Azura exchanged a look, then burst into laughter. "Don’t worry," Emma said, still giggling. "We’re done for the day. After lunch, we’ll head home."
Allen couldn’t remember the last time he felt so relieved. Hearing Emma say "We’ll head home" was like music to his ears. He even blurted out, "Great, so great," and a genuine smile spread across his face, surprising even himself with how much he meant it.
Emma and Azura chuckled at his enthusiasm. The waiter approached their table again ready to take their orders.
"What would you like to order?" he asked, his pen poised over his notepad.
Allen glanced at the menu, still feeling a bit overwhelmed by the array of options. "What do you recommend?" he asked, looking up at the waiter.
The waiter smiled, clearly pleased to be asked for his opinion. "Our chef’s special today is grilled salmon with a lemon butter sauce, served with roasted vegetables. It’s one of our most popular dishes. We also have a wonderful beef tenderloin if you prefer something heartier."
Allen nodded, the decision made easier by the recommendation. "I’ll take the grilled salmon," he said, handing the menu back.
Azura, who genuinely didn’t understand the underlying tension, frowned in confusion. "But that was an easy question. I just wanted to know more about what he’s up to."
Emma scoffed mockingly, her protective instincts kicking in. "It’s a hard question for him. Trust me."
Azura looked between Emma and Allen, her frown deepening. She could tell there was something she wasn’t getting, something unspoken between the two siblings. But rather than press further, she decided to drop it. "Okay, okay. I didn’t mean to make things awkward."
"Rather than that..." Emma turned to Azura, her eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Azura, you better tell me—why did you suddenly become a streamer? I mean, why would a rich kid like you decide to entertain other people?"
Azura was just about to answer, her expression turning thoughtful, when Allen’s phone rang. The sound cut through the ambient noise of the café, drawing their attention. Allen pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the screen, seeing Geralt’s name displayed.
Recognizing the importance of the call and knowing that the conversation would be personal, Allen immediately stood up from his seat. "I need to take this call," he said, his voice calm but urgent. Without waiting for a response, he picked up the phone and stepped away from the table. Several bodyguards immediately followed him, maintaining a respectful distance but ensuring his safety.
"Hey, Geralt," Allen said as he walked toward a quieter area of the café.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Geralt’s voice was warm and familiar. "Did something happen?"
